Lauris was educated in Jelgava Music College and Los-Angeles High School. Lauris first appeared on TV as a singer at the age of five. Lauris worked with composer Raimonds Pauls in 1999-2000. In 2001-02 Lauris participated in the national preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest, performing song “I wish I knew” in 2001 (in duet with Linda Leen)-second place and "My memory tape" in 2002 -fifth place. The song finished second. Currently Lauris has finished recording his first solo album “Planet 4 2” which includes such superhits as 'Tell Me" (in duet with Maria Naumova), "I know you the best", "Go girl" and others Lauris, young contestant from Latvia, confessed that he participated in similar festivals for several times, but usually he was showman not a contestant. Lauris is one of the most popular showmen national TV. "I saw other participants and I was confused, even felt lost: the name of the festival is "Voice of Asia" and repertoires of the contestants are very colorful, with oriental direction. My songs are a bit different from the songs of the other performers. Of course, I would like to win one of the prizes, but being here, my participation is big success for me because I have heard a lot of good recalls from Maria Naumova, my friend and country woman. In the last year she also was your contestant, this year she became a winner of "Eurovision" competition"- he says sharing his impressions about Almaty. Lauris is not superstitious; still he always has his talisman, silver ring- present of his godmother, with him. He believes it will bring him success on the festival.
