Altynai Zhorabaeva. She is from Shymkent, she is 23. Her way through to music was quite original : she had been indifferent to it till she entered Kazakh – Turkish International University. Only then inspiration seized her and she desired to become a singer. She was accepted in a short time period. From a candidate of a regional contest (third prize), she turned out to be a contestant of “Zhas Kanat”. In 1999 her life-time dream came true – she participates the X “Asia Dauysy” International Festival. Altynai wept when leaving Almaty because the rest contestants were obviously stronger. But it was a good test for her upon an international stage and invaluable experience. A Murat Irgaliev comment that she became more skillful as a singer and can try to gain a victory secondarily that happens rare on “Voice of Asia”. Now Altynai works as a music teacher at Kazakh – Turkish International University.
