Ladies and Gentlemen!
We invite you to take part in the 10th
Jubilee International Contest of performers "Azia Dauysy" - "Voice of
Asia" in Almaty, Kazakhstan, which will be held from July 30 to August 3, 1999.

| THE CONCEPT OF THE CONTEST |
Three songs should be performed at the "Azia
Dauysy" - "Voice of Asia" Festival.
The 1st and the 2nd song: the obligatory condition for the first two songs: along with a
bright modern form and arrangement of the performing compositions, in a certain extent
there should be melodies of the countries artists represent. It is possible the different
extent of contacting with the "roots", however, at least one of the ethnic
instrument's sounding should be attend in the arrangement.
The 3 rd song: on performer's option.
Grand-Prix - Big Golden Trophy and $ 10 000 Premium
1 Prize - Golden Trophy and $ 5 000 Premium
2 Prize - Silver Trophy and $ 3 500 Premium
3 Prize - Bronze Trophy and $ 2 000 Premium
To the composer for the best song of the Contest- Special Prize and $ 1 000 Premium
To the arranger for the best arrangement of the Contest song - Special Prize and $ 1 000
Premium
To the soundengineer for the best half playback recording of instrumental accompaniment of
the Contest song - Special Prize and $ 500 Premium
1. The Contest is open to solo singers and bands (max 6
persons) - from all over the world. The main requirement: the presented materials should
meet the Concept of the Contest.
2. Nomination- by record-, TV- and Radio-Companies, managers, who regulate possession of
the copyrights on the compositions performed.
3. All participants are to send to the Organizing Committee for the anticipatory listening
a tape with the 3 songs recorded (audio-DAT, CD, mini - disk, compact cassettes,
master-tapes 6,3 mm; video: VHS, BETACAM - SP) that correspond to the concept of the
Contest and fully reflect the artistic image of performers. The duration of each song
should be no longer than 4 minutes (obligatory condition !).
SPECIAL ATTENTION! Please, notify the Organizing Committee on your decision to participate
in the Contest by fax and inform on the dates documents and materials are sent.
4. Basing on the application forms the Organizing Committee selects the performers and
bands to take part in the Contest, and the contestants will be officially informed on
this. The registration fee is to be forwarded to the Organizing Committee in case of
admission to the Contest.
| REQUIRED DOCUMENTS AND MATERIALS |
1. Application - Agreement Form ( for a soloist and band).
2. Recorded tape of the 3 suggested songs. The performers have to possess the copyright on
their declared music material.
3.Lyrics of the songs in original language and it's English or Russian translation.
4. A detailed biography.
5. Promotional materials (press releases, photos, posters, videotapes, etc.) that reveal a
creative personality of the performers.
6. Cast of the bands.
7. 2 photos (of each person) for accreditation card.
1. There will be one song performed each Contest day - three
songs altogether. (The duration of each song is no longer than 4 minutes).
2. Solo singers and bands present their songs "live" (vocals and solo playing of
ethnic instruments of orchestra accompaniment (playback "minus 1").
1. The performances are evaluated by the International Jury
which is consist of famous singers, composers, producers, head of TV companies, Recording
Companies, Radiostations, Publishing Houses, Presidents of other Contests.
2. The Organizing Commettee forms the Jury Panel
3. The resolution of the Jury Panel is final.
The International Contest reserves the following rights:
1. The exclusive right to broadcast and to permit other organizations to broadcast all the
songs performed at the Contest.
2. The exclusive right to produce and to distribute all types of Contest audio and video
materials (CDs, compact cassettes, films and video types) of all the songs performed at
the Contest.
3. The non-exclusive right to use some of the subsidiary materials sent by applicants to
the Organizing Committee for the publicity purposes.
4. All the participants arrived to the Contest sign the Agreement with the Contest to
comply with the license, copyright, respect the laws and traditions of Kazakstan, execute
the Rules of the Contest.
5. The Contest doesn't pay the artistic fee for the performance.
The International Contest "Azia Dauysy" covers the
following expenses in Almaty:
- Accommodation in the first-class hotel provided by the Contest for all contestants
(staying of "extra" persons are to be paid by participants).
- Meals (3 times a day)
- Inner transportation.
The 10th "Azia Dauysy"- "Voice of Asia"
Contest is held in Almaty from
July 30 - August 3, 1999.
Applications are accepted till May 1, 1999.
| ACCREDITATION OF MASS-MEDIA |
Representatives of mass-media can be accredited at the
"Azia Dauysy" - "Voice of Asia" Contest. The required technical
provision and means of communication are provided. Payment conditions and Application
forms are sent separately by demand.
