The «Azia Dauysy» Festival comes to the 9th year in 1998

1. Azia Dauysy - 90
It was introduced itself with confident and publicly at once. The performers from 15 states of the whole of the world came to «Medeu» at that time. The participants represented so such palette of styles, trends and national cultures that it was obvious and indisputable a necessity and timeliness of the contest. The guests of the contest are - Igor Nicolaev and Natasha Koroleva, Janna Aguzarova and «Bravo» band, Philipp Kirkorov and etc. Approximately 200 journalists from around the world kept under observation for the contest. There were top music industry professionals in the International Jury staff, including Mr. Joe Boyde and Peter Jhenner.

2. Azia Dauysy - 91
The construction of the stage was improved. Now the showing part of the Azia Dauysy» strode forward on the new level qualitatively. An interest toward the contest grows. The leading TV and radio broadcasting and publishing offices of France, Turkey, Great Britain, China, USA, Germany and etc. overlooked about it. The contestants presented 19 states of the world. The guests are Aziza, Thomas Andres, Irina Ponarovskai, Soso Pavliashvili, «Yalla» band, Olga Kormuhina.

3. Azia Dauysy - 92
More and more countries send themselves participants to here - the contest's awards are prestige in real. The stage became prestigious itself, national and foreign headliners are desire to perform on the stage. Vladimir Presnykov, Aleksandr Serov, «Space» band, Patricia Kaas, Geny Belousov, Tamara Gverdzhiteli, «Bravo» band, Murat Nasyrov, Maria Khlebnikova and Philipp Kirkorov again - are the guests. The contestants demonstrate a high class professionalism, musicians referred to music of another people, Korean people sing on Kazakh, German people do on Turkish, Uzbek people do on Arab.

4. Azia Dauysy - 93
«Azia Dauysy» is a member of FIDOF. 25 entrants compete for the awards at that time. A lot of them submitted their entry forms for some years first before they appeared on the stage - the contest had a high requirement. It has worthy fame. It has own way in music. The contest is advised to change its conception so many times to be either folk or pop, but its organizers are confident: there is «the golden mean», so talented and creative people can sensate it: The guests: «Boney M», Gloria Gaynor, Pupo, Valeri Leontyev, Natalia Vetlizhkay, Sergey Krylov.

5. Azia Dauysy - 94
«Azia Dauysy» is already well known in Cannes at MIDEM global music market place. The contest celebrated its jubilee, 5 years. There was a unique TV bridge between audience, positioned on the «Medeu» stadium, and spaceship, on a board of which there was Russian-Kazakhstany crew. Well, on the Earth the Contest was congratulated by «Yalla» band, Al Bano and Romina Power, Laima Vaikule, Dmitry Malikov, Larisa Dolina, Haddaway.

6. Azia Dauysy - 95
In the year of Abai's 150th anniversary, one of the contest's days was devoted to the great jubilee. Abai songs were sung on Kazakh, Russian, Ukrainian and Chinese. The contest was all-continental at that time: only Antarctic continent did not present it's performers. «Azia Dauysy», in Murat Irgaliev's name, was nominated with FIDOF honorable award - «for the notable endowment in cultural development». Guests: Toto Cutugno, Jimmy Somerville, «Ten sharp» band, Vlad Stashevsky, Laima Vaikule, «A-studio» band, Vladimir Presnyakov, Philipe Kirkorov , Christina Orbakaite and Alla Pugacheva.

7. Azia Dauysy - 96
This time it is not a Contest , like before , but Festival, in frame of which the C ontest of Contemporary Song of Kazakhstan was held besides International Contest. 25 well-known songs, having being performed by the most famous singers of the state, competed for the awards, Makpal Junusova was awarded with the President Prize. One more competition was held -«The Queen of Azia Dauysy». Malaysia's singer Erra Fazira became the «Queen of Azia Dauysy». The Special event - is a celebrating of the Legend of our Culture Roza Baglanova. At that time «Aya» firm held the large scale festival of fireworks. The guests-stars were: «Baccara» band, «East 17» band, Leonid Agutin, Angelica Varum, «Kabare-duetto Academy», Irina Allegrova, Mithun Chakravorty and etc.

8. Azia Dauysy - 97
The Festival was held in the Summer Theater of the City Park of Entertainment, however a nostalgia for «Medeu» did not influence upon the celebration. Moreover, during the 32nd Assembly General of International Federation of Festival Organization - F.I.D.O.F. - in Cannes there was decision to proclaim «Azia Dauysy» as «The festival of the Year 1997». And FIDOF nominated current «The Ring of Friendship for a Mass Media» award to the Festival. This award meant that it was just «Azia Dauysy» taken the huge attention by the journalists and the majority of the news and observations, TV and radiomaterials were exactly about it! The Jury of the Second Contest of Contemporary Kazakhstany song gave the main awards to Rosa Rymbaeva and Makpal Junusova. «Dos Mukasan» band was celebrated as the Legend of our Stage. Guests-artists were presented by : «Soultans» band, Angelica Varum, Anastasia, «Lube» band, Corona, «Gibson Brothers» band, Sofia Rotaru, «Ivanushki International» band.
