Ladies and gentlemen, Respected Authorities of the
Republic of Kazakstan and the City of Almaty, Organizers, Participants and Sponsors of the
"VOICE OF ASIA" FESTIVAL!
On behalf of the International Federation of Festival Organizations
known as F.I.D.O.F. and its members from 72 countries around the world, I have the great
privilege and honour to address to you all my congratulations for all the wonderful
achievements which you have accomplished and which represent today one of the major
contributions to the aims of F.I.D.O.F. to STRENGTHEN PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP THROUGH MUSIC
AND ART. You have made it possible that for the past eight years numerous top artists and
professionals from all over the world meet here, this wonderful country called REPUBLIC OF
KAZAKSTAN, where they have found the fertile soil to establish friendly relationship and
feelings of brotherhood.
While FIDOF celebrates its 32 years of its existence, rendering its
friendly services to thousands of professionals and amateurs from all corners of the
world, the "Voice of Asia" festival from Kazakstan succeeded in a very short
time to come in line by its fame and quality with many world-wide known International
events. For all these reasons, the International Festival "Voice of Asia" has
been proclaimed "THE FESTIVAL OF THE YEAR' 1997" at FIDOF's Annual Assembly at
Midem in Cannes, France in January 1998.
At the same FIDOF Assembly in January 1998, the FIDOF GOLDEN RING OF
PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP' 97 was announced that this Award which is given to the PRESS AND
MEDIA of a country supporting and promoting festivals and cultural events, is to be
presented to the PRESS OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKSTAN for their coverage of these events.
Congratulations to all who have contributed to KAZAKSTAN's international support given to
the world for cultural exchanges and thus acting for a better understanding among people
of any race, religion or nationality.
